Demoscene
The demoscene is a computer art subculture that specializes in producing demos, which are non-interactive audio-visual presentations that run in real-time on a computer. The main goal of a demo is to show off programming, artistic, and musical skills.
I’ve been involved with the demoscene since 1992, where I made my first steps writing music on the Amiga, and more specifically on a very hard to use tracker software that came bundled with the DSS8+ Sampler hardware. In those early days I made a name for myself by organizing and running a bi-weekly chiptune tracking competition in irc on channel #trax. Later on I joined several demo groups (formed a couple of my own too) until 2001 when I joined Andromeda Software Development as the group’s musician, with which we’ve won quite a few competitions around the world.
